Riparia Gloire

북아메리카 북동부에서의 대목시험이 통상적인 산성 또는 중성토양에서 수행되었으며 일반적인 권장 사항은 SO4와 3309C로 압축되었고, Riparia Gloire de Montpellier와 101-14 Mgt에도 약간의 관심이 있었다. 이들 넷중 SO4만이 알칼리 토양에 적합할 수 있으며, 다른 셋은 Riparia배경으로 인해 산성 조건에 훨씬 더 잘 적응되어있다.

 

Rootstock trials in northeastern North America have been carried out on generally acidic or neutral soils and the general recommendations have been reduced to two stocks SO4 and C3309, with some interest in Riparia Gloire de Montpellier and 101-14 Mgt. only SO4 of these four would be appropriate for alkaline soils, the other three being much better adapted for acidic conditions because of their riparia background.

이 계통의 Riparia는 Mississippi 및 Missouri 강변으로 부터 19세기에 보내진 것들중 선발되었다. Riparia Gloire를 남부 Marysburgh의 토심이 깊은 사질양토에 적당한 간격과, 토심이 얕은 Hiller지역 토양에 재식밀도를 낮은 경우와 높은 경우로 심었다.

현재까지 Riparia Gloire는 양쪽지역에서 건조의 신호나 양분 결핍의 증상-심지어 2001년 가뭄때도-이 거의 없이 결과가 아주 좋으며, 시작시 뿐만 아니라 앞으로도 계속 유지된다면 고려해야할 확실한 대목이다. 최초의 품종중 하나를 Burbundy(프랑스의 지역)에서 사용중인데, 아주 좋은 결과를 보이며, 특히 토심이 깊은 곳에서 그렇다. 농부인 James Lahti는 묘목상에서 구할 수 있는 만큼 모두다 심고 싶다고 말했다.

 

This strain of Riparia was isolated from material sent in the 19th century from along the Mississippi and Missouri Rivers. Riparia Gloire has been planted on deep sandy loams in South Marysburgh in moderate densities, and in shallow Hillier soils in both low and high densities.

So far Riparia Gloire has done extremely well in both areas, showing little or no signs of drought or mineral deficiency, even in the drought of 2001, and is a definitely a rootstock to consider if it continues on as well as it has started. one of the original rootstocks used in Burgundy, it is enjoying a bit of a renaissance, especially on deeper soils. Grower James Lahti says he would plant everything on it if he could get it from the nurseries.
